Robert J. Barone
Managing Director Robert J. Barone was a key member of the team that established Landmark Digital Services in 2005 after orchestrating BMI’s acquisition of BlueArrow digital audio recognition technology
Before taking the position with Landmark, Barone was Senior Vice President, Information Technology & Operations for BMI, where he oversaw all new technology research, development projects and technology-based applications. Barone was also responsible for the re-engineering of BMI’s key business platforms, implementing major enhancements to BMI’s royalty distribution process and their customer contact and tracking systems.
Prior to BMI, Barone held management positions in music publishing, recording and distribution, including posts at MCA, Inc. and Capitol-EMI Music.
Internationally, Barone serves on the Steering Committee of CISAC, the international confederation of Performing Rights Organizations, where he has spearheaded successful international initiatives including ProtoNet and FastTrack.
David De Busk
As Vice President, Business Development, David De Busk oversees Landmark’s sales and marketing efforts. He is responsible for developing and executing the company’s business development initiatives, structuring key transactions, establishing strategic partnerships and securing agreements for technology licensing. De Busk was instrumental in Landmark’s acquisition of BlueArrow technology.
With over 25 years’ experience in the music industry, De Busk most recently served as Assistant Vice President, Strategic Development for BMI. There, along with directing key international and technology projects, he developed BMI’s MusicBot, the first web robot for identifying music sites on the Internet.
Darren Briggs
Vice President & Chief Technology Officer Darren Briggs leads Landmark’s Development, Infrastructure and Operations departments, and is responsible for creating the business processes, systems and operational structures that support Landmark’s audio recognition technology. He also directs the deployment and implementation of the company’s nationwide music monitoring network utilizing BlueArrow technology, a cornerstone for many of Landmark’s initiatives and endeavors.
Briggs was formerly the Senior Director of BMI’s Department of Strategic Development, where he was responsible for investigating and projecting new technology trends in the music industry. He previously worked for 12 years at blue-chip music publishers Tree, Sony and Sony/ATV UK as Director of Global Systems Development. In 2000 Briggs co-founded Fatbubble, Inc., a San Francisco-based social network technology company.
Dorian Yoanidis
Dorian Yoanidis, Vice President & Controller, manages Landmark’s accounting and finance functions. His duties include financial reporting and analysis, modeling and the development of pricing strategies.
Yoanidis is a CPA with more than 15 years’ finance and accounting experience at American Express and the May Company. As Senior Director of Financial Planning & Business Control Solutions at BMI, he oversaw financial planning, budgets and internal and external audits, all while playing a key role in BMI’s due diligence and negotiation initiatives. Yoanidis now also serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee for FastTrack, the international technical alliance of performing rights organizations.
